Harley dealerships in the area offer the same class for more than 10x that amount. At the very least take the training course and give manual transmissions a try. After that she remembers not to be afraid of the throttle. Usually this is the first incline she comes across after leaving her driveway on two wheels for the first time in a couple months. The clutch adds another element of control that can add fluidity to your riding. I've always felt this way in regards to automatic transmissions on a motorcycle too. Which can actually be dangerous, believe it or not' It will take a little bit of time to get used to the correct procedure and make it second nature, but it really isn't difficult at all. It's seriously not that difficult to learn and you're over-stressing it. The purpose of the manual transmission is to have complete control over the bike and make it do exactly what you want it to do. A friend of mine test rode an NC700x with DCT for shits and giggles and spilled on the first turn because the bike decided to downshift in the corner, which took him by surprise. Which can actually be dangerous, believe it or not. One day i would love to have my pick at a ride that suits me and shift like the rest of you but until then, I think i would feel safer with something automatic. There were a few people in my class who had never rode a motorcycle nor drove a manual transmission car and still did perfectly on the test. The problem is, I never learned how to drive a manual, and haven't had contact with my father in years. Ever since i was a young child and my father would let me ride behind him, it's been my dream to join the group of those out there riding on two wheels and enjoying life. (maybe not weird?
